N95 Mask Fit Check List For Trident P2 Mask
- If air escapes from the nose or cheek regions, adjust the foam nose seal until a proper seal is obtained.
- Should air leakage occur around the respirator's edge, adjust the head straps and reposition the mask until a secure seal is achieved.
- A successful fit check is indicated by the absence of air leakage.
- Always conduct a fit check before entering the work area.
- If a successful fit check cannot be achieved, remove and refit the respirator.
- If you are still unable to achieve a successful fit check, refrain from entering the work area.
Before Using an N95 Respirator
- Prior to using your disposable respirator, it is imperative to conduct a fit check.
- Always familiarise yourself with the disposable respirator wearer instructions.
- If air leakage occurs at the edges of the respirator, adjust the fit to eliminate leakage and then perform the fit check as described above.
- Similarly, if air leakage occurs around the nose, adjust the foam nose/cheek support strip to eliminate leakage and conduct the fit check accordingly.
- If achieving an appropriate fit and seal proves challenging, refrain from entering the hazardous environment and adhere to on-site policies referencing AS/NZS 1716: 2012.

NOTE: To achieve an optimum facial seal, the wearer should be clean-shaven. It is recommended the wearer be fit tested prior to use in accordance with AS/NZS 1715: 2009 and/or onsite requirements. Training on the safe use and limitations of the disposable face mask must be performed in accordance with AS/NZS 1715: 2009 section 2.4.
